Sonam Kapoor Shows Her Postpartum Belly After Son’s Birth, Says, ‘Tummy’s Not In Yet’

Actress Sonam Kapoor posted an Instagram story in which she flaunted her postpartum figure.

New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is overjoyed to join the ranks of parents. On August 20, 2022, the actress gave birth to a son after a gruelling nine months of pregnancy. This past Thursday, just days after giving birth to a son, actress Sonam Kapoor posted an Instagram story in which she flaunted her postpartum figure.

The actor said in the clip, “Tummy’s not completely in yet but looks great.” She uploaded a video of herself wearing black leggings, a matching oversized jacket, and spectacles. With a grin on her face, she recorded herself in front of a mirror.

The new mother discussed the challenges she faced due to her older maternal age in a recent interview. Sonam said that she had progesterone injections everywhere on her body in order to ensure a successful pregnancy at the age of 37.

Talking to Vogue Magazine, Sonam said, “It was tough. I was taking progesterone shots in my thighs and stomach—practically everywhere on my body—because I was of advanced maternal age and was constantly throwing up, sick and bedridden. Everyone’s so tense about women who get pregnant after 31 or 32. They tell you don’t do this, don’t do that, don’t get gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia. I was like, Wait, hang on, I still feel very young. I’ve got my dad’s genes, I look very young. It’ll be fine.”

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja announced the good news last week through an Instagram post. They took to Instagram and wrote the statement: "On 20.08.2022, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy with bowed heads and hearts. Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, friends and family who have supported us on this journey. It's only the beginning but we know our lives are forever changed - Sonam and Anand."
