New Delhi: 'Asur Season 1' created quite an impression among the audiences for being a Hindi-mythological thriller series done right. Arshad Warsi left audiences wanting for more with an impressive OTT debut. 'Asur Season 1' ended at a climactic point where the true identity of Asur aka Subha Joshi was revealed. However, the wait for 'Asur Season 2' has been keeping fans wanting for more. With the release of 'Asur Season 2' on Jio Cinema on June 1, social media had been flooded with first reviews since Thursday morning.

Asur Season 2 plot

The show will chronicle the story of a serial killer on the loose, under the garb of myth and religion. The first season is set in the the city of Varanasi and follows Nikhil Nair, a forensic-expert-turned-teacher, who returns to CBI to find a serial killer. 'Asur Season 2' begins where the first season left off. Nikhil Nai is haunted by his past's ghosts as the CBI team still pursues the cat-mouse game against Asur.

“The formidable duo of Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti as Dhananjay Rajput and Nikhil Nair respectively, are back as Asur threatens to rise and take over the world,” read the official synopsis of the upcoming season.

Meiyang Chang, Gaurav Arora, and Anupriya Goenka will also return for the follow-up part of the series. 

Where to watch Asur Season 2 on OTT

You can watch 'Asur Season 2: Rise of the Dark Side' for free on Jio Cinema. The first season was available on Voot but since Jio Cinema's deal with the platform, both shows are now available on the latter.

Fans can watch 'Asur Season 2' on Jio cinema without a subscription as it is a free streaming service.

Not all eight episodes of 'Asur Season 2' have been released today. Only the first two episodes have aired and the remaining six will be released one by one every day till June 7.
