Showik Chakraborty Arrested: Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sister Shweta Singh Kirti Says ‘Great Start NCB’

New Delhi: In a major development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday after about 10-hours of interrogation. The ‘Jalebi’ actress along with her family has been accused by the late actor’s father of abetment to suicide, money laundering case among others. On September 4, the drug law enforcement agency raided the actress and Samuel Miranda's home and reportedly seized their gadgets and other documents. Hailing the decision of the NCB for arresting Showik Chakraborty, the ‘Kai Po Che!’ actor’s sister thanked God and prayed for guiding them in the direction of truth. She tweeted, “Thank you God Keep guiding all of us in the direction of TRUTH! #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput #GreatStartNCB #Warriors4SRR #Flag4SSR” (Source- Twitter) Shweta Singh Kirti keeps on sharing throwback memories of the ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ actor on her social media through various pictures and videos. In one of her recent posts, she shared a throwback photo when they Sushant's movie ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ together. Expressing how proud she was of her little brother, she wrote, “It was Oct of 2016, Bhai had asked me to fly down from USA so that all of us can watch Dhoni Movie together in the Theatre. I was sooo proud of him and so excited that I took the first plane I got to reach India and celebrate Bhai’s success together I miss you so much Bhai. God, give me the strength to bear this loss. #MyBrotherTheBest #MissYouBhai”

After a drug angle emerged in the SSR death case, NCB became the third central agency to join the probe. They registered a case against Rhea, her brother Showik, talent manager Jaya Saha, Shruti Modi, and Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya under Sections 20 (b), 28, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
