Mumbai: Bollywood 'dhak dhak' girl Madhuri Dixit Nene and her family has just adopted an abandoned puppy on the occasion of her elder son Arin's 16th birthday on March 17th. Both Madhuri and her husband Dr. Shriram Nene shared pictures posing with the pup on their respective Instagram handles, also sharing what they named him. The couple adopted the puppy rescued by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. Madhuri shared series of pictures with sons Arin-Rayaan and hubby Shriram Nene is seen posing with the pup. She captioned the pictures - "The smiles on our faces show how this little pup stole our hearts! Welcome to the family Carmelo Nene ????♥ I urge all animal lovers to adopt pets & see how they fill your life with joy@petaindia" Madhuri also said in a statement - "Abandoning a companion dog or cat is the cruellest thing to do. I'm happy we will be able to give this pup a new lease of life" [swipe left in post below to view all pics!]
Dr. Nene also shared these pictures with a message revealing the pup was bought on Arin's  birthday. The message reads - "Meet the newest member of the Nene family - Carmelo Nene! We adopted him from our PETA @PetaIndiafriends on Arin's birthday. If you wish to adopt one too, please contact PETA's Sachin Bangera @Sachbang or write to GarimaO@petaindia.org #AdoptDontShop" The daddy also shared a separate picture with his younger son and their newly adopted dog they named 'Carmelo' and wrote - "He is a happy pup!"

This is not the first time that Madhuri and her family have given a home to a dog in need. Their dog Riya, who passed away, was also adopted. On work front, Madhuri was last seen in 'Total Dhamaal' and her 'Bahaar Begum' avatar from upcoming multi-starrer 'Kalank' had been making waves too.
