The purpose of this meeting with the Maharashtra Governor is still unclear. However, it is possibly over her ongoing clash with the Maharashtra government.

Soon after, a civil court in Mumbai interfered stayed the demolition of her property.

Then a visibly angry Kangana put out a video directly attacking the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. She has been actively criticising the Mumbai police and Maha government over the handling of the SSR death case. Her "Mumbai feels like PoK" remark is being cited as the reason behind BMC action.
The actress maintains that no part in her property is illegally constructed and every work carried out was with the permission of BMC.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government had directed the state police to probe possible drug charges against Ranaut.
