Hema Malini Supports Jaya Bachchan’s Statement In Rajya Sabha; Says ‘Bollywood Is A Beautiful And Creative World’

New Delhi: Ever since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the film industry has been going through a very difficult time as people have been slamming Bollywood celebrities for various reasons including 'nepotism'. With the ongoing investigation in his death case, the 'drug angle' emerged and many people from inside and outside the tinsel town started targeting the industry. Without taking names, Bollywood actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan took a dig at the people trying to taint the film industry in the on the second day of Monsoon Session in the Parliament. The ‘Abhimaan’ actress also urged the government to provide protection and put a ban on the unending bashing being faced by the Bollywood fraternity. Veteran actress Hema Malini also came out in support of Jaya Bachchan while speaking to a leading news channel. The ‘Sholay’ actress said, “You cannot tarnish the image of Bollywood. These are small instances, like a stain on a piece of cloth we must wash it away,” she said. “I have received a lot of love from this industry, how can I watch anyone say anything bad about it?” The ’Seeta Aur Geeta’ actress further explained that the film industry is a beautiful and creative world and she has gained name and respect from this industry. She added, “Bollywood is a beautiful and creative world. It is an art and culture industry. I have gained name fame and respect from this industry.” Jaya Bachchan said in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, “Just because of a few people, you cannot tarnish the whole industry... I was embarrassed and ashamed yesterday that one of the members in the Lok Sabha, who is from the industry itself, spoke ill of the industry. Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain.” The Samajwadi Party MP had given a zero-hour notice in the Upper House over an alleged conspiracy to defame the film industry. She also added that the film industry brings fame and recognition to the country and people working in this field are being ‘flogged by social media’.
