'The Avengers' & 'Games Of Thrones' Actress Dame Diana Rigg Passes Away At 82; Celebs Mourn Her Death
Veteran actress Dame Diana Rigg left for her heavenly abode on September 10. She was diagnosed with cancer in March 2020.
New Delhi: Veteran actress Dame Diana, fondly known for her role of Emma Peel in the TV series ‘The Avengers’, passed away on Thursday (September 10). She was 82. The Emmy Award-winning actress was diagnosed with cancer in March 2020.

“Rigg died peacefully early this morning. She was at home with her family,” Diana’s agent said in a statement.
Actor John Bradley mourned Rigg's death and expressed grief on social media. He tweeted, "Diana Rigg was just wonderful. But you all knew that already. Everybody did. Very sad news. #dianarigg."
Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal called Diana the 'true queen of Westeros'.
Actor-director Jon Lindstrom said that Diana Rigg raised the bar for all the actors while mourning her death.
"I tell you, for a pre-teen growing up in small town Oregon, the weekly image of Diana Rigg in that catsuit just made life worth living. Here's to the extraordinary #DianaRigg. From #TheAvengers to #GameOfThrones she raised the bar for us all. #RIP," he wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Dame Diana won several hearts with her performance as Olenna Tyrell in the popular fantasy drama ‘Game of Thrones’. She played the role from 2013 t0 2017.
A fan shared a dialogue from 'Games of Thrones' while paying tribute to Diana on Twitter. The tweet read, "The lords of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No. You’re a dragon. Be a dragon. Rip #Dianarigg."
One user wrote,"Goodbye, Diana Rigg. A true titan of theatre, film and television. You leave decades of an indefatigable, tremendous legacy."
Dame Diana Rigg is also known for her role as Teresa di Vicenzo in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'. She played the character of James Bond's wife in the spy action drama.

Rigg will be seen for the last time on the screen in the miniseries- 'Black Narcissus'. The drama series is based on the novel of the same name by Rumer Godden.
