New Delhi: Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen playing the role of cricketer in 'Jersey', suffered a lip injury during the making of the much-awaited flick. Being a thorough professional, the 'Kabir Singh' actor decided to resume shoot immediately after receiving medical aid.  

When Shahid Kapoor Suffered Lip Injury

Shahid busted his lip while shooting for the sports drama, which also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. Guess what? The actor returned to the field to resume shoot after getting 25 stiches. The talented artist displayed his true grit as he didn’t let the shoot suffer due to his injury. 

Shahid took to social media to share a video, which features his journey while making ‘Jersey’. He captioned his post as, “This one has my blood.” 

Shahid Kapoor's wife Mira Rajput, Ishaan Khatter and other celebs dropped comments on the post. Ishaan wrote, "Guts and glory. The stuff of mavericks. Proud of you bhai."

'Jersey' Producer Calls Shahid Kapoor A 'Perfectionist'

Aman Gill, who is one of the co-producers, was all praise for the 'Padmaavat' actor. "We all know that Shahid is a perfectionist but what we saw that day was a display of true sportsman's spirit by Shahid. He was back on the set after his stitches and we were all in awe of his passion for acting. He's given it his everything to bring the raw emotions of Arjun alive on screen and you'll be able to see it when you watch the film," Gill said in a statement as quoted as saying by IANS. 

'Jersey' Release Date

The highly anticipated flick will hit the silver screens on December 31, 2021. 'Jersey' is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. Gowtam Tinnanuri, who helmed the Telugu version, has directed Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer. 

The trailer and songs of 'Jersey' have managed to strike a chord with the audience and hence, trade pundits are hopeful that the film will create magic at the box office.
