PM Modi Announces 21-day National Lockdown, Bollywood Celebs Extend Their Support
Bollywood celebrities extended support to PM Narendra Modi and asked their fans to strictly follow the lockdown to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday (March 24) announced a nationwide total lockdown for three weeks to combat Coronavirus. In his second address to the nation, PM Modi made a fervent appeal to the citizens to remain at their homes till April 14. He added that social distancing is for everyone including the Prime Minster. Several Bollywood and TV celebs applauded PM’s move and asked the people to strictly adhere to the lockdown.
Arjun Kapoor shared a video along with the caption, "I shot this an hour back. This was inevitable to stop the spread & it is literally what the absolute stupidity of a few has done. The country is shut till 14th April now. Maybe not completely but a part of this lockdown & curfew is because of the lack of discipline of a certain few who dared to wander & not take the situation seriously... 21 days begin now !!!"
Amitabh Bachchan urged his followers to follow the lockdown guidelines to stop the spread of the deadly virus.
''Be at home. Stay safe. Stay mentally emotionally and physically strong. Spread love. Have faith. Pray often. Speak to all those who matter daily. Meditate. Read. Cook. See the sky turn bluer every day. 21 days. Will pass. Keep it real and make it count you all," Shahid Kapoor wrote.
Taapsee Pannu, last seen in 'Thappad', tweeted," 21 days ! Not a lot for us in return of our lives. Let’s do this everyone ! And hopefully by the end of THIS lockdown we surely will have a reason n time to celebrate. Until then let’s get through one day at a time."
Renuka Shahane wrote, “.Very very strong message by our PM.1) 21 day strict lockdown all over India 2) Social distancing is the only way we can fight this pandemic and save lives 3) Do not spread rumours about any "treatments" that are not endorsed by Central Govt of India or State Govts.”
Vishal Dadlani tweeted, "This was required. Takes courage to take a big step like this,

'Birthday Boy' Emraan Hashmi thanked the fans for their wishes and requested them to take the lockdown seriously. He tweeted, "Thank you for all your birthday wishes today. Stay safe, stack up on the essentials. And please take the curfew very seriously. 21 days and counting.... This too shall pass...Love to all."
Veteran actor Dilip Kumar tweeted, "Dawa bui, dua bhi Pehle kuch faasla bhi Woh kareem hai raheem hai Aur wahi mushkil kusha bhi My sincere appeal to all of you, #StayHome and obey the #CoronavirusLockdown. God bless us all."
Riteish Deshmukh, recently seen in 'Baaghi 3', retweeted PM Modi's tweet and wrote,"Jai Hind!!! ???????????????? together as a nation we can overcome this pandemic."
