Andhra Pradesh Villagers Build Temple For Sonu Sood, Call Him 'God' For Selfless Efforts During Covid 19

The temple with an idol of actor Sonu Sood was inaugurated on Sunday in the presence of the sculptor and local people. Villagers even performed aarti, while women, dressed in traditional attires, sang folk songs.

There are no brownie points for guessing that Sonu Sood has emerged as a real-life hero in 2020. His noble and selfless gestures during the on-going Covid-19 pandemic has earned him the epithet of a Messiah and a superhero and have inspired many to come forward and help the needy.
To honour his philanthropic activities, the people of Dubba Tanda village in Andhra Pradesh's Siddipet district have come together to erect a temple which they have dedicated to Sonu. His altruism has truly become the highlight of the year and it has captured the attention of many people in different parts of the country.
The temple with an idol of Sonu Sood was inaugurated on Sunday in the presence of the sculptor and local people. An aarti was performed, while women, dressed in traditional attires, sang folk songs and raised slogans.
Giri Kondal Reddy, a Zilla Parishad member, said Sood has been doing a lot of good work for the public amid the coronavirus pandemic. “As he has attained the place of God by his good deeds, we have built a temple for Sonu Sood. He is a god for us.”
Talking about it, Sonu shares, "This is an extremely overwhelming moment. But at the same time, I don't deserve this. I'm just a common man who helped his brothers & sisters."
Notably, Sood helped scores of countrymen coming from the underprivileged section by arranging safe road travel for migrants stuck in various parts of the country to reach their native places. He later launched a job portal for the migrant labourers by collaborating with several employment providers. The actor has been lauded for his efforts from all quarters. As the pandemic continues and uncertainty looms large, he is making sure that he reaches out to more people and helps them get back to their feet. Way to go, Sonu!
