Netizens Debate Over Deepika Padukone's Choice To Not Wear Mangalsutra, Sindoor At Siddhivinayak Temple: ‘These Anti-Hindu People…’

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh went to the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai to seek blessings before their baby's arrival.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed a baby girl on Sunday, September 8. Deepika was admitted to the hospital just a day earlier, around 5:00 p.m. The actor and Ujjala Padukone, her mother, were brought to the Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.

Earlier, Ranveer and Deepika went to the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai to seek blessings. They celebrated the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi by visiting the sacred temple. Deepika and Ranveer were both wore traditional outfits. Ranveer chose an off-white kurta pyjama. On the other hand, Deepika donned an exquisite emerald green saree. On X (previously known as Twitter), a debate has been triggered by Deepika's choice to not wear a mangalsutra, a traditional neckpiece worn by married women.

A X user shared pictures of the couple and wrote, “Imagine making so much money and yet the inability to afford a mangalsutra; especially when visiting a temple. And #DeepikaPadukone is the brand ambassador for #tanishq Lol.”

On the work front, Deepika and Ranveer's upcoming project is ‘Singham Again’, which is slated to premiere on big screens around Diwali in 2024. Following that, Ranveer will feature in ‘Don 3’, directed by Farhan Akhtar, and Aditya Dhar's upcoming action film.
