It was revealed in February that Charan Kaur, the late mother of Punjabi artist Sidhu Moosewala, is 58 years old and expecting her second child via IVF. Sidhu was the sole child of Charan Kaur and Balkaur Singh, who died tragically in 2022. For more than half a year, Charan Kaur has kept a low profile and avoided public notice.
On May 29, 2022, Sidhu Moosewala was shot and killed in the Mansa district of Punjab. The incident happened the day after his security protection was removed, as part of the state government's attempt to reduce the VIP culture.
According to authorities, Moosewala left his home on May 29 at about 4:30 p.m. with his neighbour Gurwinder Singh and cousin Gurpreet Singh. He was travelling in his SUV to his aunt's Barnala residence. Two vehicles blocked his SUV at Jawaharke. During the incident, about thirty bullets were fired.
In Moosewala's murder case, 25 of the 31 accused—including criminals Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar—have already been placed under arrest.
