New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project will benefit the BJP "very much" in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, a survey by ABP-CVoter revealed.

More than 52 per cent of the respondents felt the inauguration of the corridor, which links the Vishwanath temple to the ghats of the Ganga, would benefit the BJP "very much". About 20 per cent of the respondents said it would marginally help the saffron party while 27 per cent said it would not benefit at all.

On whether PM Modi's two-day visit to Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency, would create an atmosphere in favour of the BJP in the upcoming polls, 56.7 per cent of the respondents replied in the affirmative. About 43.3 per cent of the respondents, who participated in the ABP-CVoter survey, said the PM's visit would not have an impact.

On Monday morning, PM Modi visited the Kal Bhairav Mandir before inaugurating the first phase of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project. In the evening, PM Modi witnessed the spectacular Ganga "aarti" and a light-and-sound show from a river cruise.

The phase one of the project has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 339 crore and is now spread over five lakh square feet.

The Kashi Vishwanath project houses 23 buildings. The buildings will provide facilities like yatri suvidha kendras, tourist facilitation centre, Vedic kendra, Mumukshu bhavan, bhojshala, city museum, viewing gallery, food court, among others.

An ABP News-CVoter Survey conducted in the first week of December predicted that BJP would retain the Hindi heartland state of Uttar Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh, BJP is projected to win 212-224 of the 403 seats with 40.4 per cent vote share. In the previous polls, the BJP came to power by winning 325 seats, garnering a 41.4 per cent vote share.

Yogi Adityanath would become the first chief minister of the state to serve two consecutive terms if the projections of the December survey turn out to be true.

The Samajwadi Party (SP), which has formed an alliance with Jayant Chaudhary's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RLD), will triple its seat tally and finish second with 151-163 seats, as per the survey.
