Scuffle Breaks Out Between TMC, BJP Workers During Dilip Ghosh's Durgapur Visit
A scuffle broke out between TMC and BJP workers during Dilip Ghosh's visit to Durgapur which was later resolved by the police.
An altercation broke out between the workers of Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party during BJP MP Dilip Ghoh's visit to Durgapur on Monday, reported news agency PTI. Later the situation was controlled by the police, the report added. Ghosh said that the TMC workers protested because so many people came to see him.
"This is their (TMC) attitude. Some people had come here to protest and they have been removed. So many people have come here to see me, that is why they (TMC) are protesting," he said while speaking to the reporters.
Last week, the Election Commission of India said that Ghosh's election-related communications will be specially monitored after he made an objectionable remark against West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.

During an election campaign trail last month in Durgapur, Ghosh said that Mamata Banerjee "needs to fix the identity of her father".
"When she goes to Goa, she says she is the daughter of Goa. When she goes to Tripura, she says she is the daughter of Tripura. First, fix the identity of your father. It’s not good to be everyone’s daughter," Ghosh had said.
The poll body gave the order after reciept of replies to notice issued to him and Congress leader Supriya Shrinate after a derogatory post was uploaded from her social media account against actor and BJP candidate from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut.
In its order the ECI said that it is convinced that both the leaders made a personal attack and thus violated the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct.
"They have been warned to remain careful in public utterances during the Model Code of Conduct period," said the ECI in its order adding that their election-related communications will be specially and additionally monitored by the Commission.
