The Congress has released its manifesto ahead of the MCD elections slated to take place on December 4.
New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday released its manifesto ahead of the MCD elections slated to take place on December 4.
Among it’s key promises are 100% door-to-door collection of waste, increasing the green area from the present 23% to 32% in 5 years, and a temple for Sant Shri Guru Ravidasji.
The manifesto was released by Congress leaders Ajay Kumar, Supriya Shrinate, Subhash Chopra, and Anil Chowdhary.
The party also promised to ensure the availability of RO water in every household and house-tax waiver for the previous fiscal year and the next half as well. On the education front, it has promised to day boarding facilities at all MCD-run schools.
The national capital will undergo civic polls spanning 250 wards on December 4 and the votes will be counted on December 7.
Earlier on Monday, in a bid to woo Purvanchali voters, the Congress party promised restoration of the Chhat ghats on the banks of the Yamuna and provide other facilities for devotees to hold their festivities without hurdles.

The Congress' Delhi unit chief Anil Chaudhary alleged that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had "betrayed" the Purvanchalis living in the national capital with false promises and prevented them from holding their most auspicious festival.
He claimed that the Congress government in Delhi under Sheila Dikshit had set up the Chhat ghats for Purvanchalis and also established Mythili and Bhojpuri academies.
The Congress' manifesto comes a day after Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party announced '10 guarantees' including the de-sealing of shops and resolving conversion and parking charges. The guarantee cards were released by AAP Trade Wing convenor Brijesh Goyal and president Subhash Khandelwalafter after organising a march in Kashmere Gate Market in the city.
