Mamata didi sends me self-picked Kurtas every year: PM Modi tells Akshay Kumar

The statement comes after both PMModi and Mamata have been seen recently hitting out at each other with PM Modi calling Mamata ‘speed breaker didi’ and she hitting back with ‘expiry babu’ jibe.

New Delhi: As the political heat in the country is at its peak, in the wake of Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave an apolitical interview to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and made several revelations pertaining to his personal life. In talks with Akshay Kumar, PM spoke about his relations with politicians in oppositions parties and how in spite of different political views, they have relations like a family. Speaking on his relations with TMC Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has been several times seen taking jibes and holding protests against Modi, PM said “The fact might go against me politically, but Mamata didi and I share cordial relationship outside political arena and “Despite all the rivalry, didi personally selects and sends me kurtas every year”. He added “She also sends me sweets as she knows I am fond of Bengali sweets”.
