'Is Mumbai A City Or Dancebar?' Raj Thackeray Lashes Out At Eknath Shinde Over Infra Projects
Ahead of the Maharashtra elections, Raj Thackeray slammed the state government and said CM Eknath Shinde was turning Mumbai into a "dance bar" with "unaesthetic" excessive lighting.
Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is leaving no stone unturned to rake in votes. Speaking at the ABP Shikhar Sammelan on Wednesday, MNS chief Raj Thackeray took a dig at the Eknath Shinde government, saying that the CM was turning Mumbai into a "dance bar".
Why Did Raj Thackeray Compare Mumbai To A Dance Bar?
Raj Thackeray slammed the Maharashtra government and said Mumbai needs an aesthetic revamp. "Mumbai needs bigger museums, educational museums, gardens, etc. The city lacks an aesthetic sense... I have noticed that the CM has put up lights everywhere, including electric poles."

"Is this a city or a dance bar? If lights are installed everywhere, will the government turn them off during festivals?" He further criticized CM Shinde, saying he lacks the sense to truly improve the city.
Thackeray also commented on development in the state, stating that only when one visits other places does one understand how cities are built. He noted that discussions on Maharashtra's development could go on for hours, reflecting on what he envisions for the state and how it could be strengthened further.
When asked who might become Maharashtra's next Chief Minister, Thackeray responded, "The next Chief Minister will be from the BJP. I can't explain why, but it's just a feeling I have." He added that if asked who might lead Maharashtra in 2029, he would say it would be someone from MNS. Thackeray also said that Devendra Fadnavis could take on the Chief Minister's role after the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections.
