'Party Hasn't Projected Me As CM, But...': TS Singh Deo On Being Elevated To Top Post

Chhattisgarh Polls: Congress leader TS Singh Deo has spoken on the speculation of him being the CM candidate for the party if the Congress wins the elections.

Chhattisgarh Elections 2023: Chhattisgarh Deputy CM and party candidate from Ambikapur, TS Singh Deo has said that people in contact with him have his name in their minds for the post of chief minister if the Congress sweeps the state again this time. The state is voting for the second phase of polls on Friday in 70 seats. The first phase of voting took place on Nov 7 in 20 assembly constituencies.

"My name has never been projected by the party for CM. We are fighting in a joint leadership, and Bhupesh Baghel is leading it... I haven't heard that my name is projected as CM. Yes, people in contact have it in their minds..." he said.

Asserting that his party will claim the state, the Ambikapur candidate said, "Congress is going to win... My priority is the betterment of individuals and families... Why are you trying to hide behind 'ED Ki Pallu"

Notably, before the elections, Congress was reportedly facing trouble within the party over the CM candidate. However, it seems clarity would come over the same once the decision of the polls is announced on December 3. The focus at present, for both BJP and Congress, is on winning the elections and retaining the states they have in their kitties while dethroning the other.
