Background

The polling in Matia Mahal constituency in the 2020 Assembly Election elections took place on 8th February. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Shoaib Iqbal while Ravindra Gupta is contesting on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. Voting in Matia Mahal Assembly was held on 8 February in which 70.33% voters exercised their vote. Counting of votes in Badarpur Assembly will begin today from 8 am, whose latest information will be available on this page.

  • 1993 Assembly Elections: In 2nd Assembly election, JD candidate defeated BJP candidate with a difference of 19945 votes. Here, JD leader Shoaib Iqbal attained 27617 votes and BJP candidate Begum Khurshid bagged 7672 votes

  • 1998 Assembly Elections: In third Assembly election, JD candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 19916 votes. Here, JD leader Shoaib Iqbal attained 28872 votes and INC candidate Aziz Ahmad Siddiqui bagged 8956 votes

  • 2003 Assembly Elections: In 4th Assembly election, interesting battle was seen seen between JD(S) and INC here JD(S) candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 7698 votes.

  • 2008 Assembly Elections: In Fifth Assembly election, interesting battle was seen seen between LJP and INC here LJP candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 7604 votes.

  • 2013 Assembly Elections: In 6th Assembly election, interesting battle was seen seen between JD(U) and INC here JD(U) candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 2891 votes.
