Mahbubnagar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ap Jithender Reddy from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won the elections by a margin of 2590 votes. The polling / voting in Mahbubnagar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telangana Rashtra Samithi#s Manne Srinivas Reddy and Congress Party#s Vamshi Chand Reddy

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telangana Rashtra Samithi won 11 out of the 17 parliamentary seat with 33.9 percent vote share while the Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Here, Indian National Congress leader D. Vittal Rao attained 428764 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Yelkoti Yella Reddy bagged 380857 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 50895 votes BJP candidate A.P.Jitender Reddy had got 391588 while INC got Dr.Mallikarjun votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 22641 votes. Here, JD leader S.Jaipal Reddy attained 278302 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Dr. Mallikarjun bagged 255661 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Telugu Desam Party here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Telugu Desam Party counterpart with a difference of 5498 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 32162 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Mallikarjun attained 217072 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Dyapa Gopal Reddy bagged 184910 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JD candidate by a margin of 69778 votes INC candidate Mallikarjun had got 335762 while JD got Jayapal Reddy votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, JNP candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 80103 votes JNP candidate Sudini Jaipal Reddy had got 274064 while INC got Mallikarjun votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Mallikarjun attained 241665 votes and INC(U)'s J. Rameshwar Rao bagged 89004 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 94489 votes INC candidate J. Rameshwara Rao had got 216455 while BLD got D. K. Satya Reddy votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, TPS candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 17490 votes. Here, TPS leader J. Rameshwar Rao attained 127949 votes and INC candidate D. K. Satya Reddy bagged 110459 votes
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 89817 votes INC candidate J. R. Rao had got 177320 while IND got M. Kistayya votes.
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 66320 votes INC candidate J.B. Mutyal Rao had got 117573 while IND got K.R. Veeraswamy votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated PSP candidate by a margin of 72485 votes INC candidate J. Rameshwar Rao had got 189093 while PSP got J. Venkatesham votes.
