Kurukshetra: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Raj Kumar Saini from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 129736 votes. The polling / voting in Kurukshetra constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Shri Nayab Singh Saini and Congress Party#s Nirmal Singh

Kurukshetra 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 7 out of the 10 parliamentary seat with 34.7 percent vote share while the Indian National Lok Dal managed to win just 2 seats with a 24.4 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Kurukshetra Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. Out of the 22 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kurukshetra, 19 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Raj Kumar Saini of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Balbir Singh Saini by a margin of 129736 votes.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Lok Dal candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INLD candidate Prof Kailasho Devi attained 438701 votes and INC's Om Parkash Jindal bagged 275091 votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, HLD(R) candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, HLD(R) candidate Kailasho Devi attained 333387 votes and INC's Kuldip Sharma bagged 191867 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, HVP candidate had defeated SAP candidate by a margin of 51777 votes HVP candidate Om Parkash Jindal had got 292172 while SAP got Kalasho Devi votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JP candidate with a difference of 30025 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Tara Singh attained 212783 votes and JP candidate Shyam Singh bagged 182758 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 38188 votes. Here, JD leader Gurdial Singh Saini attained 301640 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Harpal Singh bagged 263452 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated LKD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Harpal Singh attained 275112 votes and LKD's Manohar Lal bagged 131836 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, JNP(S) candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 27929 votes. Here, JNP(S) leader Manohar Lal attained 159196 votes and JNP candidate Bishan Singh bagged 131267 votes
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Raghbir Singh attained 322164 votes and INC's Devdutt Puri bagged 71322 votes.
