Delhi Assembly Polls: Who is Sunil Yadav? BJP’s Candidate Against Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Assembly Eelctions: After rigorous deliberations, the BJP on Tuesday released its final list that had its New Delhi candidate, Sunil Yadav, pitted against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Delhi Assembly Elections: Dismissing the reports that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reconsidering his candidature against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Sunil Yadav, said he will not only contest against Kejriwal, but also looks on to defeat him. Yadav visited the newly elected BJP chief JP Nadda, at his residence to seek his blessings. Talking to ABP News, Yadav said he doesn’t consider Kejriwal as a formidable candidate as the party faced major rout under his leadership in the Lok Sabha polls and he also faced a debacle in the local body polls. Yadav said he got the ticket at 2 am last night and is all set to file his nomination today (Tuesday). The party had announced that it is fielding Sunil Yadav against Kejriwal from the New Delhi assembly seat, in the dead of the night post 1 am.  However, within hours, reports surfaced that the party is hesitant to field Yadav against the incumbent CM Arvind Kejriwal, who is one of the most formidable candidates. After rigorous deliberations, the BJP on Tuesday released its final list that had its New Delhi candidate, Sunil Yadav, pitted against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The party was struggling to find someone to face Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, but finally decided to field Yadav, on the prestigious seat. Yadav is a young face who holds the President's Office of Yuva Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Party, Delhi (BJYM Delhi). An advocate by profession, Yadav worked his way up the ranks from being the District President Yuva Morcha, Delhi General Secretary of Yuva Morcha, BJP. With nearly,16,300 followers on Twitter and around 1,00,000 likes on his Facebook page, he is  expected to benefit BJP due to his ground level recognition as a social worker. After this list, total candidate count of BJP went up to 67. The Delhi assembly has 70 seats. The remaining three is being given to allies LJP and JDU. Also Watch: BJP's Sunil Yadav to contest against Kejriwal, says going to file nomination While the BJP has set aside two seats for JDU, with whom it will fight Bihar election later this year, one has been kept aside for LJP. Sources say Sangam Vihar and Burari are kept for JDU while the Seemapuri seat is kept for LJP. No seat has been allotted for ally Shiromani Akali Dal over the disagreement between the two over CAA and NRC.
