Written Exam And No Interview For Recruitment Of Principals And Assistant Professors: Karnataka Deputy CM

The minister said that the recruitment drive to fill 1,242 vacancies for the assistant professors, and 310 for Principals will commence shortly. 

New Delhi: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan on Wednesday announced that the recruitment process for the assistant professors and principals in higher education institutions from now on will be on the basis of the candidate's performance in the written examination and there will be no interview. 

The minister said that the recruitment drive to fill 1,242 vacancies for the assistant professors, and 310 for Principals will commence shortly. 

"These appointments will be made through a written examination and there will be no interview or viva voce. Principals are being appointed for the first time after 2009 and assistant professors are appointed after 2017,"  the minister was quoted by PTI in its report. 

The notification for the recruitment drive will be released in the next 20 days and the entire appointment process will be completed in a span of six months.

The total marks for the written recruitment examination for the Assistant Professors posts will be 500 marks consisting of objective type questions, out of which, 100 marks will be Kannada,100 for English, 50 for general knowledge, and 250 for optional subjects. The recruitment examination for the Principals posts will be for 100 marks. 

Earlier on Wednesday, the Punjab government appointed 128 medical specialists in various fields, out of which, 41 vacancies were filled in the Microbiology field, 21 in E.N.T, 13 in Community Medicine,17 in Pathology, 11 in Psychiatry, 13 in Ophthalmologists, 19 in General Surgery, 6 in Skin and V.D.,10 in Forensic Medicine, and 4 in B.T.O discipline fields respectively.
