Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021, the eligibility test for admission to undergraduate Engineering programmes in prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country, will be held on July 3 and be conducted by IIT Kharagpur.
Addressing students through a live broadcast, the Union Education Minister said, "After the dates for JEE Mains 2021 were announced, we got to know through emails and other means that you were eager to know the date of JEE Advanced 2021. The date, the venue, and if there will be any relaxations given".
To be eligible for JEE Advanced, one has to clear JEE Main and score at least 75 percent marks in Class 12 exams. However, students have been exempted from the latter.
"Since we have not completely come out of the crisis we were facing earlier, relaxation over admission criterion of minimum 75 percent marks in class 12 has been extended," Ramesh Pohkriyal revealed

"This will help talented students sit in the JEE advanced exam and succeed in clearing them," he added.
Announcing the date to be July 3, Ramesh Pokhriyal said that students have a lot of time to prepare well. The Union Education Minister concluded his address by extending best wishes to students.
Earlier, JEE Main 2021 dates had also been announced by the Education Minister in a series of tweets. The JEE Main 2021 exams will be held in four separate phases:
- JEE Main 2021 phase 1: February 23 to February 26.
- JEE Main 2021 phase 2: March 15 to March 18, 2021.
- JEE Main 2021 phase 3: April 27 to April 30, 2021.
- JEE Main 2021 phase 4: May 24 to May 28, 2021.
As per the new JEE Main pattern, students will have to attempt 75 out of the 90 questions or 25 to 30 questions each in the subjects of physics, chemistry and mathematics.
