Delhi Education Dept Issues Advisory To Teachers, Parents Over Concerns Of Addiction To Online Gaming

The Education Department has released a list of DOs and Don'ts related to online games. The advisory states that online games in the new age of technology are addictive for children.

New Delhi: The Education Department of the Delhi government has issued an advisory on online gaming. This advisory has been issued to teachers and parents of children. It states that in the new age of technology, online games are stimulating children and it is turning into an addiction.

Online gaming is turning into disorder - Department of Education

"Online games are easily available on the Internet, computers, mobiles, and tablets," the advisory says. The use of mobile and internet in children has also increased due to school closures during the pandemic. "The process of online games is addicting for children and it's turning into a gaming disorder. Gaming companies are designing games in such a way so that children are attracted towards them and buy different levels", it noted.

Department released the DO's and Don'ts List

The Union Education Ministry had also issued an advisory to parents and teachers. Similarly, the Education Department of the Delhi government has issued a list of DOs and Don'ts related to online games for parents and teachers.

National Helpline Issued

The advisory also shares information about the National Helpline and state-wide Nodal officer for reporting any incident related to online games.
