'PM Modi Fears Arvind Kejriwal The Most': AAP After ED Summons Delhi CM, Here's What BJP Said

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak said that Kejriwal is scheduled to go to an undisclosed place to attend a 10-day Vipassana meditation course from Tuesday.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday dismissed the excise policy case as fake and bogus after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a related money laundering case.

The ED earlier today summoned AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal again for questioning in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case.

Talking to reporters, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak said their lawyers are studying the notice.

"This is nothing new. How Narendra Modi is working - whoever questions him is either suspended or arrested to finish him off politically. In this country, it is Arvind Kejriwal whom Narendra Modi fears the most. If anyone joins the BJP, they get a clean chit. It is the misfortune of this country," he told reporters.

Kejriwal is scheduled to go to an undisclosed place to attend a 10-day Vipassana meditation course from Tuesday.

"As far as the notice is concerned, it is in the public domain that Arvind Kejriwal is going for Vipassana. The schedule is made 1-1.5 months ahead. The lawyers will decide what reply is to be given for this notice," he added.

Previously, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal did not appear before the agency on November 2. Instead, Kejriwal wrote to the ED, challenging the summons, which he termed "illegal, politically motivated" and an attempt to hinder his campaigning in the poll-bound states.

In his letter to the ED, Kejriwal demanded the "recall" of the summons, describing it as "vague, motivated, and unsustainable in law", news agency PTI reported.

BJP Hits Out

Taking to social media platform X, the BJP shared a video of Kejriwal with the caption, "The mastermind of the liquor scam will have to answer!"

In a post, BJP Delhi Unit Chief Virendra Sachdeva said, "Arvind Kejriwal should join the ED investigation on Thursday without any excuse. Last time when ED had sent summons to CM Arvind Kejriwal, he had cited the election campaign for requesting an extension of time. Now there are neither elections nor any other important political or administrative work, so if CM Kejriwal is honest then he should join the ED investigation."
BJP leader Harish Khurana said, "I want to tell Arvind Kejriwal that the law is doing its work. Why is he afraid if he hasn't done anything wrong?"

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari told ANI, "People of Delhi want those indulging in corrupt practices to be investigated and the guilty should be punished. Arvind Kejriwal should not run away from the investigation but join it."

The ED had summoned Kejriwal to record his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in the case related to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. Kejriwal's party colleagues, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, are currently in judicial custody in connection with the same case.
