G20 Summit 2023: Check Out Routes To Avoid Or Take If You Are Travelling From Faridabad
Considering the fact that Faridabad is the most populous city of Haryana and there is a high density of traffic to and from Delhi, these restrictions are crucial.
As dignitaries from abroad started arriving in New Delhi for the G20 Summit on Friday, the Faridabad Traffic Department enforced restrictions on vehicle movements for safety and security. The restrictions in the Haryana city kicked in on September 7 and will remain in force till the end of the Summit on September 10. The Faridabad Traffic Police's restrictions will apply along the Delhi-Faridabad National Highway-19 till the (Badarpur) border.
Considering the fact that Faridabad is the most populous city of Haryana and there is a high density of traffic to and from Delhi, these restrictions are crucial.
The police advised people going to Delhi from Faridabad to restrict the use of their private vehicles and make maximum use of public transport modes, such as the metro and buses. Trucks would not be permitted to travel towards Delhi from Faridabad either. "We urge people not to use their private cars as much as possible," said Amit Yashwardhan, Faridabad DCP (traffic) was quoted as saying by Business Today.
Entry of commercial and heavy vehicles will be prohibited from all the border areas of Delhi adjoining Faridabad, including Badarpur, Pahladpur, Shooting Range, Mangar Dera and all routes leading to Delhi, the police said. The entry of all heavy goods vehicles and medium goods vehicles going to Delhi has also been prohibited. Only those vehicles, which are carrying essential commodities are being allowed through the border. The traffic department advised all heavy vehicles arriving from Palwal to use the alternative route Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal expressway or Kundli Manesar Palwal expressway (Western Peripheral Expy and Eastern Peripheral Expy) to reach their destination.
Entry From Gurugram through Delhi-Jaipur Highway in Delhi has been restricted till midnight on September 10. Entry of commercial vehicles going from Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Noida towards Delhi is forbidden for the duration of G20 Summit.
