Addict Teen Kills Father After Argument Over Money For Drugs In Prayagraj

A teen killed his father, Bharat Lal Patel with an iron rod after a money-related argument escalated in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

A teenage boy allegedly killed his father by attacking him with an iron rod in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday. The incident occurred in Sehra village, located in the Kaundhiara police station area of the Yamunanagar zone.

After murdering his father, the 17-year-old went to a police station and confessed to the crime. Reportedly, the teen was intoxicated when he killed his father.

The deceased, Bharat Lal Patel, 60, had four daughters all of whom were married. Patel used to live along with his son. According to the police, the 17-year-old was a drug addict who frequently demanded money from his father to buy drugs.

The two would always have arguments over money, as the teen would always demand money from his father. For Holi, the two had gone to Delhi, after they returned the fights continued as the teen persistently demanded money. The argument escalated on Friday morning and in a fit of rage, the son fatally attacked his father with an iron rod.

Following this, he went to the police station and confessed.

Daughters Informed About Father’s Death

The police have arrested the accused son following the incident. Patel’s body was sent for post-mortem. The police also informed the daughters of the victim.

After a son objected to his father's desire to remarry, the father shot a killed his son. Ram Boricha, 76, a widower for 20 years, fatally shot his son Pratap, 52, Pratap twice at close range in their home in Jasdan town of Rajkot district in Gujarat.

Boricha’s desire to remarry led to frequent clashes within the family, with the son and other family members opposing the idea, arguing that it would damage the family’s reputation.

According to The Times Of India, the police said, that after the incident, Boricha calmly sat on a chair beside his son’s lifeless body until authorities arrived and took him into custody.
