6-Year-Old Girl ‘Raped’ At Wedding In Rajasthan’s Dausa, Police Begin Probe
Rajasthan News: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped during a wedding function in the Dausa district. The parents of the child lodged a police complaint after discovering bloodstains on the child's clothes.
A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified man during a wedding event in the Dausa district of Rajasthan. The incident came to light when the parents discovered bloodstains on the child's clothes upon returning home from the event on Thursday night. The family filed a police complaint, following which an FIR was registered at the Mahila Thana in Dausa, news agency PTI reported police as informing.
Umesh Chander Datta, Inspector General of Jaipur Range, provided an update on the case, stating, "The father of a minor girl gave a complaint, and based on that, a case was registered in Dausa Police station. A medical check-up of the girl is being conducted. Forensic teams have also begun their probe. We are in the preliminary stage right now."
He further mentioned, "The girl's condition is stable right now. I visited the hospital and interacted with the father and the doctors in a preliminary interaction. Female police officers and other senior police officers are present in the hospital."

Reacting to the incident, Rajasthan BJP leader Rajendra Rathore said that the state government will ensure a fast-track trial in the case and that the accused is punished. "The girl is admitted to the ICU and is slowly coming to a conscious state," he told news agency ANI.

This case as earlier this month, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reported a significant increase in such crimes against women, with 4,45,256 cases registered in 2022, marking a four per cent rise from the previous year. The data revealed that 250 women were victims of murder-cum-rape/gang rape across the nation in 2022.
Rajasthan recorded the highest number of rapes at 5,399, according to the NCRB report.
