New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old was allegedly beaten to death while another suffered severe injuries after being attacked by four men due to an old enmity near a park in New Usmanpur of northeast Delhi, police on Thursday said.
The incident took place near a DDA park opposite the JPC Hospital, in the early morning hours of Thursday, they said, reported PTI.
"We got a call at 1.37 am from the hospital that two men were injured near the DDA park in front of the JPC Hospital," a senior police officer said.
Responding swiftly, a police team arrived at the scene, the officer said, adding two men identified as Mayank Chaudhari (19) and Love Kush (24) were brought to the hospital with multiple stab wounds, the PTI report stated.
"Chaudhari, who had received multiple stab wounds on his chest, was declared brought dead. While the condition of Love Kush is critical. Kush told the police that there was some old enmity and a past altercation between the two groups," he added.
An FIR has been lodged under sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), and 34 (common intentions) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the PTI report added.
According to the police, teams have been formed to apprehend the accused.
Last week, a three-year-old child was reportedly mowed down by a cluster bus in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh area, resulting in the child's demise. The local police said that the bus driver was arrested.
According to PTI, the incident occurred while Priyanshu and his three-year-old son, Gopal, were returning home from a market in the Roshanpura area on an e-rickshaw, police said.
"The father and his son were returning home after refilling gas cylinder. The driver of the e-rickshaw pressed brakes, due to which Gopal slipped from his seat and fell on the road and a cluster bus from behind mowed him down," a senior police officer had said.
The officer said that the child was taken to a hospital with the help of a police team but unfortunately, he was declared brought dead.
