Roof Collapse, Deaths, Floods — Normal Life Thrown Out Of Gear In UP Amid Record September Rain

UP Rains: Waterlogging, damage to property, and power outages are being reported from across the state. IMD predicts continued rain for several days, with record-breaking September rainfall.

UP Weather Update: Continous rains have wreaked havoc in Uttar Pradesh, causing waterlogging in many districts of the state. As many as 19 people have died so far in rain-related incidents. According to the India Meteorogical Department, the rains will continue in the state for the next two to three days.

Meteorologists have said the rains in September have broken records of the last 40 years. 

The continuous rainfall has thrown normal life out of gear for people in most parts of the state. Although there is some relief from the humid weather, many places are facing problems due to floods and waterlogging.

Due to the alert issued by the India Meteorological Department regarding the rain, holidays have been declared in schools in many districts. The rains are accompanied by strong winds.

Badaun: Roof Collapse Kills Youth

Badaun has been experiencing heavy rain for the past few days. A roof collapsed Friday in the Sarha Baghauli village under Ughaiti police station area in Badaun. A seriously injured youth was taken to the local medical college where he died during treatment. 

Pilibhit Fights Floods

The entire city of Pilibhit, especially the low-lying areas, appears to have been submerged due to the continuous rain. Power supply has been disrupted with trees falling in many places. In the flood-affected areas, the water level of the rivers has further risen, deepening the crisis.

Ghaziabad Woman Dies In Roof Collapse 

The roof of a house collapsed in Parmahans Vihar Colony in the Thana Loni Border area of Ghaziabad. A woman and her two daughters who were sleeping in the house got trapped under the debris. While the mother died, both the daughters were admitted to a nearby hospital.

There has been intermittent rains in Ghaziabad on Friday.

No Power Supply In Kasganj 

The Kasganj district too has been experiencing continuous rain for the past two days. Rainwater has entered the Bhitoona Man Power House, disrupting the power supply. Pump sets are being used to drain out the water, after which power supply could be restored.

Kannauj: Trees, Electricity Poles Uprooted

Continuous rain for the past three days has disrupted normal life in Kannauj district too. The rain accompanied by strong winds uprooted trees in some places and brought down electricity poles elsewhere, completely disrupting the power supply. The wall of a mud house collapsed, killing two persons.
