This Woman MLA Is Likely To Be Delhi CM As BJP Filters Three Names

PM Narendra Modi, CMs of NDA-ruled states and BJP leaders and workers from other states who campaigned in the Delhi elections will also attend the ceremony.

Delhi CM Oath: The contest between BJP MLAs for the Chief Minister's post has narrowed down to three names 11 days after it came back to power in the national capital after 26 years. The party will announce its decision after the BJP Legislative Party meeting on Wednesday evening and a grand oath ceremony is planned for Thursday.

Over 50 celebrities including Akshay Kumar and Vivek Oberoi, famous industrialists like Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani and diplomats from other countries have been sent invitations to attend the ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan, which can accommodate over 30,000 people.

Who Are The Top 3 Choices?

Sources have told ABP News that the party will pick the CM from three names and they are Rekha Gupta, Ashish Sood and Vijendra Gupta.

Rekha Gupta: The MLA from Shalimar Bagh, is said to be number one in the race for the post of CM after she defeated Bandana Kumari of AAP. Rekha Gupta will represent the constituency in the Delhi Assembly for the first time. There is no woman Chief Minister of NDA in the country, so her claim is considered to be very strong. She took off her political career by winning the student union elections.

Vijendra Gupta: The second name in the race is Rohini MLA Vijendra Gupta, who was the leader of the opposition in the outgoing assembly. He has been winning and becoming MLA even in the wave of Arvind Kejriwal. Vijendra Gupta emerged victorious in the seat by defeating AAP leader Pardeep Mittal.

Being a Vaishya by caste and an old face of the party, there are high chances of him being chosen for the CM's post. If sources are to be believed, RSS leadership can also agree on the name of Vijendra Gupta.

Ashish Sood: Janakpuri MLA Ashish Sood, who defeated Parveen Kumar of AAP, is the third choice for the top post. Sood has been involved in municipal politics but is considered a strong strategist among the new-generation leaders of the party. Sood is one of the prominent Punjabi-speaking leaders of the BJP. He started his political career with ABVP and has been associated with RSS.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Ramlila Maidan at 11 am on Thursday.
