PM Modi Meets Delhi BJP MPs, MLAs At His Residence For The First Time Since Poll Victory

The meeting between the Prime Minister and Delhi BJP legislators comes after the completion of 100 days of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's tenure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met all Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Delhi at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. This marks the first such gathering since the party's historic return to power in the national capital after nearly three decades.

The meeting between the Prime Minister and Delhi BJP legislators comes on the heels of two major milestones achieved by the party, including 11 years of BJP-led governance at the Centre and the completion of 100 days of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's tenure.

Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Assembly and BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht described the occasion as both celebratory and symbolic. "The BJP government at the Centre has completed 11 years, so we will congratulate him. The way the work has been done, it has been a golden period; we should thank him," said Bisht, as reported by news agency ANI.

Discussion On 'PM Modi's Vision For Delhi'

According to BJP MP Yogender Chandoliya, who represents North West Delhi, the meeting was organised with a focus on the Prime Minister’s strategic vision for Delhi's governance and political roadmap. “Today, we will know what vision he will give for Delhi,” said Chandoliya before the meeting.

Recalling past interactions with Modi, Chandoliya highlighted how the Prime Minister helped shape the BJP’s strategy in the capital. He pointed to the shift in voting patterns, suggesting that the ‘Modi model’ resonated strongly across both national and local elections.

"Today, we will know what vision he will give for Delhi. When all the BJP MPs went to meet PM Modi after winning the elections, we did not have a government in Delhi at that time, so PM Modi asked us what the results would be in the upcoming elections. The PM had asked me how many assembly seats we had won. I said we won 9 out of 10. He asked what would happen in the elections; I said we would win seven assembly seats. He asked, 'Why seven?' I said people vote on different patterns in the Lok Sabha and assembly elections.

" But Delhi voted on the Modi pattern and after 27 years, the BJP formed the government in Delhi,” he added.

Following their clean sweep of all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi in the 2024 general elections, the BJP carried its momentum into the 2025 assembly polls, securing a decisive mandate with 48 out of 70 seats. This historic win ended the decade-long rule of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the capital.
