Maharashtra Woman Hires Hitmen To Kill Fiancé For Rs 1.5 Lakh In Ahilyanagar, 5 Arrested

The accused, Mayuri Sunil Dangde (28), was engaged to Sagar Jaysing Kadam from Mahi Jalgaon in Karjat taluka but had a change of heart after their engagement.

Days after the murder of a man by his wife and her lover, who chopped up his body and dumped it in a cement-lined drum in the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, a similar incident surfaced in Maharashtra where a woman from the Ahilyanagar district reportedly hired five men for Rs 1.5 lakh to kill her fiancé as she no longer wanted to marry him, police said on Thursday.

The 28-year-old accused, identified as Mayuri Sunil Dangde, was set to marry Sagar Jaysing Kadam from Mahi Jalgaon in Karjat taluka, but had a change of heart after their engagement.

Later, she reportedly hired a “supari” (contract) to five persons to eliminate Kadam, who works in a hotel as a cook, according to a police statement, according to a report by PTI.

The accused, Mayuri Sunil Dangde (28), was engaged to Sagar Jaysing Kadam from Mahi Jalgaon in Karjat taluka but had a change of heart after their engagement. The suspected attackers ambushed Kadam near Daund on the Pune-Solapur highway on February 27. Following his complaint, police launched an investigation.

As a result, authorities arrested five suspects—Aditya Shankar Dangde, Sandeep Dada Gawde, Shivaji Ramdas Jare, Suraj Digambar Jadhav, and Indrabhan Sakharam Kolpe—all from Ahilyanagar district.

“During the probe, police learnt that Mayuri had hatched a plan to eliminate Kadam and gave a supari to the other accused to commit the crime,” an official said. Mayuri is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to locate her, he added.

Wife, Mother-in-law Arrested For Real Estate Agent's Murder In Bengaluru

A few days after a 37-year-old real estate agent was found murdered near an under-construction building in BGS Layout, police arrested his wife and mother-in-law in connection with the crime, officials said on Tuesday (March 25).

The accused, 19-year-old Yashasvini and her mother, Hema Bhai (37), were taken into custody on Monday for allegedly murdering her husband, Lokanath Singh, in Soladevanahalli on March 22.

According to PTI, Yashasvini had married Singh a few months earlier, despite her parents' opposition. However, after discovering his extramarital affair, their relationship soured, leading to frequent arguments. She eventually left him and moved back to her parents' home.

Singh allegedly pressured her to return and harassed her family over the issue. He even went so far as to threaten that if she refused to come back, he would take her mother instead, police said.

According to preliminary investigations, a senior police officer revealed that Yashasvini mixed sleeping pills into Singh’s food to make him drowsy. As he began losing consciousness, her mother reportedly stabbed him two to three times in the left side of his neck with a knife.
