Delhi: Fire Breaks Out At Restaurant In Rajouri Garden, People Jump Off To Roof Of Neighbouring Building — VIDEO

Delhi News: A fire broke out at a restaurant near Rajouri Garden Metro Statio. Ten fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze.

A fire broke out on Monday in a restaurant near the Rajouri Garden Metro Station in west Delhi, creating panic in the busy market area. "We received a fire call near Rajouri Garden Metro Station at 2.01 pm. Ten fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site to control the blaze," said Delhi Fire Services chief Atul Garg, as per news agency PTI.  

The blaze broke out in Jungle Jamboree restaurant in Rajouri Garden. People were seen jumping off to the roof of a neighbouring building to save their lives.

Thick smoke engulfed the area, prompting authorities to cordon off the vicinity to facilitate firefighting operations. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

On Sunday night, a fire erupted at a readymade garments shop in Shahdara, close to Gandhi Nagar Police Station. "DFS received a call regarding a fire at 8.47 pm, and ten fire tenders were immediately sent to the site," a Delhi Fire Services official said, as per PTI.  

Firefighters brought the blaze under control swiftly, with no casualties reported.

Infant Among 5 Rescued In Chhatarpur Apartment Fire  

Five people, including an infant, were rescued from a blaze that broke out in a housing apartment in south Delhi's Chhatarpur Enclave, police informed on Sunday. 

A massive fire broke out at Arya Apartments, trapping several residents. Authorities rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 8.30 pm, PTI reported.  

Head Constables Pankaj and Gograj played pivotal roles in rescuing those trapped inside. "Head Constable Gograj rushed to the top floor to evacuate residents, including a woman and her eight-day-old infant," a police officer said, as per PTI. Meanwhile, Pankaj coordinated water tankers, calmed panicked residents, and saved a three-year-old boy trapped near the fire.  

Another officer, Head Constable Neeraj, broke car windows and moved two vehicles parked close to a burning car to prevent further damage. The fire brigade eventually extinguished the flames, ensuring no fatalities.
