RE-INVEST 2024: PM Modi Inaugurates Global Renewable Energy Investor's Meet In Gujarat
The conference, hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy will see participation from more than 10,000 delegates including representatives from the government, industry, and financial sectors
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet (RE-INVEST) 2024 in Gandhinagar district in Gujarat. The conference, hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), will see participation from more than 10,000 delegates including representatives from the government, industry, and financial sectors.
The central theme of the conference is Mission 500 GW which highlights India’s ambition to expand its renewable energy capacity majorly by the end of the decade. As part of its targets, India also plans to strengthen its position in the global energy transition, reported ANI.

Union Minister Prahlad Joshi during the inauguration lauded the PM’s leadership and said, “India is not only the fifth-largest but also the world’s fastest growing economy. Under PM Modi’s leadership, India is championing the cause of clean energy. Upon becoming the Prime Minister of India, he made it a global mission to create a cleaner and more sustainable world.”
The inauguration of the event was also attended by Pralhad Joshi ( Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy), Bhupendra Patel ( Gujarat Chief Minister), N Chandrababu Naidu (Andhra Pradesh CM), Bhajanlal Sharma ( Rajasthan CM), Pramod Sawant (Goa CM), Vishnu Deo Sai, (Chhattisgarh CM), and Mohan Kumar Yadav (Madhya Pradesh CM).
The major partners for the event are Norway, Germany, Australia, and Denmark. Domestically, Indian states including Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Gujarat are expected to take an active part in the conference.
Further, Gujarat CM Patel also noted that the state intends to lead the country in renewable energy. “The installed capacity of renewable energy in Gujarat is over 50,000 megawatts, with renewable energy contributing 54 per cent to the state’s energy capacity. Gujarat leads the country in solar power installation.” he added.
