G20 Summit 2023: Delhi Police Bars Zomato, Swiggy, Amazon, Other Deliveries From September 8-10

G20 Summit 2023: Delhi Police said that essential services such as postal and medical services, and sample collections by path labs will be allowed throughout Delhi

All online delivery services, such as Amazon, Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, and others will be barred in the New Delhi district during the G20 Summit, the Delhi Police said on Monday, as reported PTI. However, medicines delivery will be allowed, Police added. The G20 Leaders' Summit is scheduled to be held from September 9-10 at the Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. 

"Essential services such as postal and medical services, sample collections by path labs will be allowed throughout Delhi. In the New Delhi area, commercial activities will not be allowed. Online delivery services will not be allowed but medicine delivery will be allowed," said Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SS Yadav during a press conference. He also highlighted that there are no changes in the August 25 traffic advisory issued by the police.

Additionally, Yadav also said that essential services such as postal and medical services, and sample collections by path labs will be allowed throughout Delhi. He added that Valid permissions granted for essential services will be "honored."

"There might be closure of gates for 10-15 minutes at stations due to VIP movement and security restrictions. But apart from at Pragati Maidan (Supreme Court), metro services will not be affected at other stations," he said, as per the news agency.  

Yadav has said that individuals with hotel reservations within the New Delhi area who are arriving from the airport or railway station will be granted entry, provided they can provide their boarding passes and booking documentation.

As the G20 weekend approaches, the Delhi Police have implemented various limitations. 

Meanwhile, on Monday, the Delhi Police metro unit withdrew its prior order where it asked the Chief Security Commissioner to close the gates of some metro stations in the national capital from September 8 to 10 that open towards the VVIP route or venue of summit or place of stay ahead of the G20 summit.
