Bank Holiday On Chhoti Diwali: Are Banks Open Or Closed Today? Check Here

Additionally, for Diwali this year, the bank holiday date will largely depend on the bank's location, as banks across different states may observe varying holiday schedules

Chhoti Diwali 2024: The Diwali festivities for 2024 have officially begun, with the vibrant celebrations of Dhanteras taking place on Tuesday. We observe Narak Chaturdashi on Wednesday, commonly referred to as Chhoti Diwali. As the celebrations unfold, many wonder whether banks will be open or closed on this occasion.

The good news is that Chhoti Diwali/Narak Chaturdashi is not recognised as a scheduled holiday by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) this year. As a result, all public and private banks will operate as usual on Wednesday, allowing bank users to carry out their banking activities without interruption amidst the festive spirit.

Additionally, for Diwali this year, the bank holiday date will largely depend on the bank's location, as banks across different states may observe varying holiday schedules. In some states, banks will be closed on October 31, while others will observe the holiday on November 1.

Additionally, several states will enjoy an extended holiday weekend, with closures from October 31 to November 3. In these regions, customers should plan their banking activities accordingly, considering the specific holiday dates in their state.
