Tata Tiago EV Vs Tigor EV: Which Car Offers More? Know Battery Power, Features

Tata Motors has expanded its Electric Vehicle (EV) range with the launch of India’s most budget-friendly EV car Tiago on Wednesday.

New Delhi: With the Tata Tiago EV being revealed yesterday, the obvious comparison has to be with its bigger brother size wise and it is the Tigor EV. The Tigor EV was launched earlier and was the most affordable EV which has now changed with the Tiago EV breaking the under Rs 10 lakh barrier for an EV in India.

Which one has the most range?

The range is the biggest factor influencing the buying decision with an EV and with the Tiago EV, the range is now at 315km with its 24kWh battery pack. There is also another smaller battery pack with 19.2kWh in 250 km range. The Tigor EV gets a 26kWh battery pack but the range claimed is lower with 306km.

Which has the most power?

The Tiago EV with the larger 24kWh battery pack has an electric motor which makes 74bhp while the Tigor EV with a 26kWh battery pack makes 75bhp. Interestingly both of the cars will do 0-60 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

Which has more features?

The Tigor EV gets a 7-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, auto headlamps, digital instrument cluster, 8-speaker audio system, rear camera and connected car tech. The Tiago EV also has the same features but its connected car tech has more being the latest version. That said, the Tigor EV buyers will also get these as software updates. However, the Tiago EV gets a multi-mode regen which was introduced in the Nexon EV Max first.

Which one is more valuable for money?

The Tigor EV prices start at Rs 12.4 lakh and go onward to Rs 13.6 lakh. The Tiago EV meanwhile starts much lower with the smaller battery pack at Rs 8.4 lakh while going till Rs 11.7 lakh for the top-end. The Tiago EV is better value with more features and range while the Tigor EV should appeal to those who need more space and the boot.
