New 2026 Renault Duster To Have Turbo Petrol Power

Renault could also bring an entry level 1.0l turbo petrol which is also seen on the Magnite and that could be seen as the starting range

Renault India is developing the new generation Duster and it is bringing back the name although it has not been confirmed yet. That said, the new generation model will come to India in the second half of next year and will get turbo petrol power for sure. The Duster originally in its earlier generation came with a diesel engine and was known for that powertrain but later towards the end of its life, it has a turbo petrol engine only.

Now, the new generation Duster will also continue that and will get a petrol engine only and not a diesel. However, it could be the same 1.3l turbo petrol unit that we earlier saw in the Kicks while this means it will have 156 bhp along with being comparable to rivals. That said, Renault could also bring an entry level 1.0l turbo petrol which is also seen on the Magnite and that could be seen as the starting range.

While the market is moving towards petrols, the Duster in its new form with no less than two options will give a wider range. The Duster that was revealed sometime back could be different from the India spec version too with various changes that could be done to suit the local market tastes. The original Duster with the diesel engine was a big success and the diesel in particular brought more efficiency too.

The turbo petrol meanwhile, while it won't be as efficient, has more than enough power to rival other SUVs while actually being one of the more powerful ones in its class. We expect the Duster 5-seater to come first while Renault is also planning a 7-seater version of the same.
