A dealer invoice document has spilled the beans on what is one of the most important cars to be launched in the Indian market. We are of course talking about the Jimny and a lot of debate has been around its pricing which could be under Rs 10 lakh starting. The Jimny 5-door would be launched soon with prices officially being revealed by next month. In terms of the leaked prices, the Jimny 5-door in automatic Alpha form will be priced at Rs 13.99 lakh.

It is not clear that these prices are introductory while the official prices would be revealed in June. The Jimny with the automatic variant will come with a 4-speed automatic while 4x4 is standard of course. The Jimny 5-door would be sold with two trims: Alpha and Delta with automatic/manual being available in both.

The manual version gets a 5-speed manual gearbox like other Maruti cars. The engine is of course a 1.5l petrol with 103 bhp which would be standard too. In terms of off-road features, the Jimny comes with Ladder Frame Chassis, Ample Body Angles, 3-link rigid axle suspension and ALLGRIP PRO (4WD) with low range transfer gear (4L mode). Infotainment features include 22.86cm (9”) Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with HD display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Safety wise you will get 6-airbags, Brake (LSD) Limited Slip Differential, ESP with hill hold assist, hill decent control, rear-view camera, and ABS with EBD. Colours include 7 colour options including 5 monotone shades and 2 dual-tone options. The Jimny 5-door would be sold in Nexa showrooms all over India and will be the return of a proper off-roader from Maruti after the Gypsy.
