Mahindra XEV 9e Electric Is Outselling Cheaper BE 6 With First Month Sales

Both the BE 6 and the XEV 9e have either a 59 or a 79kwh battery pack with the range being 656 and 683 for the 79kwh battery pack version

Mahindra recently announced the bookings for its born electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and the BE 6 with both together garnering more than 30,000 bookings on day one. Now, the first month numbers are in with the larger XEV 9e getting more over its smaller BE 6 sibling. The XEV 9e, which is more expensive over the BE 6, had also registered more demand for it.

 

Total dispatches for the BE 6 and the XEV 9e were 3,196 units with the XEV outselling the BE 6 at 2205 units vs the 991 units for the BE 6. Also most buyers have opted for the top-end Pack 3 which is the most feature loaded along with having the larger 79kwh battery pack. Deliveries for the other packs will also happen later as compared to the Pack 3 which is the top-end.

 

 

Both the BE 6 and the XEV 9e have either a 59 or a 79kwh battery pack with the range being 656 and 683 for the 79kwh battery pack version. The BE 6 is the more affordable offering with a price of Rs 18.9 lakh to Rs 26.9 lakh while the much larger XEV 9e has a price range of Rs 21.9 lakh to Rs 30.5 lakh.

 

 

The reason for the buyers choosing the XEV more is due to the space and bigger size which appeals to families more over the edgier BE 6. However, for Mahindra this has clearly been their highest ever EV sales with these two being the start of their born EV family of electric cars as more offerings are also planned for the near future.
