Mahindra Thar 5-Door Vs 3-Door: Know What To Expect In Styling, Space, Engine

Thar 5-Door vs 3-Door: The Thar 5-door is much longer and has more road presence than the 3-door. Here are some key changes to expect in this version.

The Thar 5-door is set to come next year and will be the big Mahindra launch for 2024 while coming with enough differences between its 3-door sibling. The Thar 5-door puts the focus on more luxury and comfort over the 3-door and will have a considerable price difference. We recently spotted a prototype on test and it showed many changes.

As expected, the Thar 5-door is much longer and has more road presence over the 3-door while getting a different grille design with new slats. The 5-door will also get different alloys and the front will also get new LED headlamps. The rear tail light will also get a new lighting sequence.

The bigger change would be the interior which puts in more features over the 3-door version. A rear camera, front and rear armrests, and a larger 10-inch touchscreen would be one of the top expected features. The other highlight would be the sunroof which would again mark out the 5-door from the 3-door but it would not be a panoramic one although it could be voice assisted.

The upholstery and the seats would be more comfortable too while the all-important rear seat with two more doors will add in a lot of practicality. There would be more boot space too. Just like the Thar 3-door, the 5-door would be offered with a 4x2 version along with a 4x4.

The engine options would be the same with the same 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol but Mahindra will tune the suspension for more comfort along with more useability. We think the 5-door Thar will be hugely popular while appealing to more people who want a Thar but with more space.
