Citroen Basalt Vs Suzuki Brezza Vs Baleno: Here's A Detailed Comparison Of Features, Prices And Performance

While the Basalt is a 4 m plus SUV, with this price it will also compete with the sub Rs 10 lakh segment

The Basalt with its aggressive starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh has jumped straight into Maruti Suzuki territory with its popular products such as the Baleno as well as the Brezza. While the Basalt is a 4 m plus SUV, with this price it will also compete with the sub Rs 10 lakh segment.

Here is a look at how the prices mix with the popular Maruti Brezza and Baleno.

The Basalt starts with the price of Rs 7.99 lakh for the naturally aspirated 1.2l petrol which comes with 82 bhp while the Baleno is priced between Rs 6.66 lakh and Rs 9.8 lakh with a 90 bhp 1.2l petrol. The Baleno can be had with an AMT gearbox plus a 5-speed manual while the Basalt only comes with a 5-speed manual.

Do note that the Basalt even in its top trim misses out on features like a 360 degree camera, sunroof or a heads-up display, features which the Brezza has while the Baleno also has the 360 degree camera plus a heads-up display.

The length of the Basalt is 4.3 m while the Brezza is just below 4m along with the Baleno. It seems with its pricing, Citroen is keen to bring in a value for money quotient and that is the key for the Basalt even if it is not as powerful as other cars with its naturally aspirated 1.2 or even getting as many features.
