BS6 Isuzu V-Cross And Hi-Lander Pick-Up Launched

Isuzu has also updated the MU-X to meet the BS6 norms and this 7-seater big SUV comes with the new 1.9L Ddi engine delivering 120kW / 163 PS of power and 320Nm of torque. The mu-X will be available in both 4x2 and 4x4 variants with the new 6-speed sequential shift Automatic Transmission.

Delhi: Some car-makers have tried the pick-up segment but only one has been successful so far and that is Isuzu. The D-Max V-Cross is the only pick-up in the lifestyle space and has carved a niche for itself due to the pricing and the off-road ability along with the design. Pick-ups are available in huge numbers in the US and also in other countries in Asia. For India, Isuzu has just launched the BS6 version of this pick-up and it has significant updates including a new affordable entry-point into pick-up ownership.

Throughout the range, there is a new BS VI compliant, 1.9 Litre Ddi Engine which makes more power now with 163PS and  360 Nm. Like other diesel engines, the move to BS6 means lower NVH levels and a smoother power delivery. We will test it out soon enough to judge that of course! Compared to petrols, a diesel engine has had to get significantly modified to meet the tougher norms and gets cleaner as well. There is a lot more technology added to this motor including the Variable Geometric Turbocharger coming with a position sensor plus  LNT (Lean NOx Trap), DPD (Diesel Particular Diffuser) and A-SCR (Active Selective Catalyst Reduction) along with an electronically controlled Hot and Cold EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation).

As mentioned earlier, there is a new Isuzu Hi-Lander variant which makes buying this pick-up much more affordable. It is differentiated by its grey grille and bumper design while also getting grey outside rear-view mirrors, body coloured door handles and 16-inch wheel covers. It gets the basic safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX as standard along with other features. Priced at Rs Rs.16,98,000 (Ex-Showroom Chennai), the Hi-Lander comes in 2WD guise only and also is standard with a manual gearbox while the V-Cross comes with the automatic option.
