Ramadan 2024: The month of Ramadan is very special for those who follow the Islamic faith. After seeing the moon on the last day of the month of Sha'ban, the month of Ramadan begins.

Ramadan 2024: The month of Ramadan is highly revered among followers of the Islamic faith. As soon as Ramadan begins, one can witness a unique atmosphere of enthusiasm and joy among Muslims, that lasts for the entire month until Eid. Muslims observe fast in the daytime throughout the month of Ramadan, worship Allah, perform good deeds, repent for their sins, and then celebrate Eid on the last day.

This year, Ramadan will begin on Monday, March 11. However, the exact date is determined after sighting the moon on the 29th day of Sha'ban. Let's find out when Muslims will observe the first fast of Ramadan and celebrate Eid, if Ramadan begins on March 11th.

First Roza Date of Ramadan 2024:

The first day of fast is observed after the sighting of the moon. Therefore, it is estimated that if the moon is sighted on March 11, Muslims will observe the first  day of fast on March 12th. Eventually, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on April 10, 2024. During the fasting period, eating and drinking are prohibited from the time of the pre-dawn meal (Suhur) until sunset. However, exemptions from fasting are given to the sick, elderly, and very young children in Islam.

Importance of Ramadan in Islam:

The month of Ramadan is considered a sacred month of fasting, mercy, worship, and forgiveness in Islam. Talkign about fasting, it is considered one of the five pillars of Islam, which also include Shahada (faith), Salat (prayer), Zakat (charity), and Hajj (pilgrimage). The Islamic calendar is based on the lunar calendar. Therefore, Ramadan shifts approximately 11 days earlier each year.
