Massive Fire Guts 35 Boats At Fishing Harbour In Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam
Around 35 boats were gutted as a massive fire broke out at a fishing harbour in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam . No casualties were reported in the matter.
A massive fire that broke out on Sunday midnight at a fishing harbour in Visakhapatnam has gutted 35 fibre-mechanised boats. Several fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames as soon as they were informed about the fire. The fire has been brought under control now, as reported by news agency ANI. No deaths or injuries were reported in the matter. A case has been lodged and the cause of the fire is being ascertained.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anand Reddy, told ANI, "The fire broke out on a boat at Visakhapatnam fishing harbour and then spread to nearly 35 fibre-mechanised boats at midnight. Police and fire teams responded immediately. The fire was brought under control. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. A case has been filed and an investigation is underway."
Earlier in the previous week, eight houses were gutted in a massive fire which was caused by a short circuit in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda. Fire tenders rushed to the spot to extinguish the flames. No casualties were recorded in the incident.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Abdul Qayoom, told news agency ANI, "We got the information around 4:30 am in the morning that a few houses had caught fire...5 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and fire has been brought under control. As per the information received so far, 8 houses were damaged in the fire...as per the initial investigation, we got to know that short circuit is the cause of the fire...no one has been injured and there are no casualties either."
