TDP Workers Protest On Final Day of Assembly Session, Blame Jagan Govt Of Stifling Oppn Voices
TDP state President Kinjarapu Atchannaidu alleged that Opposition to Jagan's governance was not been limited to external voices as significant number of ruling party MLAs expressed their dissent.
TDP leaders staged a protest against Andhra Pradesh government at Amaravati amid the culmination of a budget session on Thursday. TDP state President Kinjarapu Atchannaidu raised concerns about the functioning of the CM Jagan government during the budget session, citing allegations of stifling opposition voices and a notable increase in essential commodity prices.
TDP state President Kinjarapu Atchannaidu said, "In the final hours of the budget session, concerns have arisen regarding the functioning of the Jagan government in the state assembly over the past five years. Allegations of improper conduct include the stifling of opposition voices by turning off their microphones during debates. Furthermore, essential commodity prices have witnessed a notable increase, causing apprehension among the citizens."
"Opposition to Jagan's governance has not been limited to external voices, as a significant number of ruling party MLAs have expressed their dissent. The culmination of the budget session today marks the conclusion of the Jagan government's tenure, and these challenges underscore the complexities faced during its last session in office," he said.

On Wednesday, Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath unveiled an interim budget of Rs 2,86,389.27 crore, marking a 2.5% increase from the previous year's allocation. Compared to the budget size of Rs 2,79,279 crore for 2023-24, this interim budget reflects a slight uptick in financial outlay.
The interim budget was presented by the state ahead of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections, scheduled to align with the Indian general election of 2024 in the coming months.
