Andhra Pradesh Government Announces Financial Assistance To Cyclone Victims
The financial assistance should be disbursed to the victims in the cyclone-affected districts of Tirupati, Nellore, Chittoor, YSR Kadapa, and Annamayya.
The Andhra Pradesh government on Sunday ordered the release of financial relief to the victims of Cyclone Mandous. It has announced financial assistance of Rs 2000 to each family and Rs 1000 per person.
It has been instructed to provide financial assistance to the victims while they are leaving rehabilitation centers. The financial assistance should be disbursed to the victims in the cyclone-affected districts of Tirupati, Nellore, Chittoor, YSR Kadapa, and Annamayya.
The constant rains flooded low-lying areas, disrupted traffic, threw daily living out of gear, and ruined crops. Low-lying areas were submerged as a result of heavy rains that impacted the SPSR Nellore, Prakasam, Tirupati, Chittoor, Annamayya, and YSR Kadapa districts. Since Friday, there has been continuous rain, resulting in rivers, streams, and lakes brimming.
Prakasam district received widespread rains for a second day on Sunday. Flood water entered into houses in a few colonies in the affected areas in the Peddaraveedu Mandal.

The chilli crop was badly damaged in part of the Prakasam district due to continuous downpour. Farmers said if the rains continued for another couple of days, they would lose the entire crop. Farmers, who made huge investments in the crop, have appealed to the government to come to their rescue.
In Nellore district, rain continued to fall in several areas for a third consecutive day. The rains have caused extensive damage to crops over hundreds of acres in 118 villages in the district.
According to officials of the agriculture department, the incessant rains have damaged paddy, cotton, peanut, red gram, and black gram crops. Farmers in the Guntur district have also suffered massive crop loss due to the incessant rains for the last three days. Paddy crops in parts of the district were submerged. Farmers, who were hoping to reap the harvest in a few days, were distraught over the loss.
