Trump assures aid to Argentina over missing submarine
Washington D.C. [United States], November 23 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump has assured Argentina of all cooperation in locating their missing submarine, the ARA San Juan, which disappeared last week off the country's Atlantic coast.
"I have long given the order to help Argentina with the Search and Rescue mission of their missing submarine. 45 people aboard and not much time left. May God be with them and the people of Argentina," Trump tweeted.
Argentina's navy launched a huge search and rescue operation to find the missing submarine.
The diesel-powered 66-metre long Class TR 1700 San Juan was on a voyage from the southernmost city of Ushuaia to the naval base of Mar del Plata when contact was lost.
The submarine was carrying 44 crew members.
The possibility of running out of oxygen increases the longer the sub remains below the surface.
The governments of the U.S., U.K. and Chile have offered satellites and ships to aid in the search operations. (ANI)
